How Veyra Hotels earned a place in AI trip planning
Travelers increasingly ask AI assistants where to stay, and Veyra’s 14 boutique hotels were missing from those answers. By publishing neighborhood guides and fixing its listing data, Veyra lifted its Share of Answer from 6% to 34% in four months.

Share of Answer on neighborhood stay prompts
Travelers don’t ask for ‘a hotel in Lisbon.’ They ask for somewhere quiet near good restaurants with a rooftop. We had those answers; we just hadn’t written them down where the engines could find them.

The challenge
Veyra runs 14 boutique hotels across six European cities. Most bookings came through online travel agencies, and the team wanted a larger share of direct bookings. When they reviewed AI answers to trip-planning prompts, Veyra appeared in 6% of them, often with outdated amenity details.
The team also had no view of which sources the engines relied on for hotel recommendations, so every fix they tried was a guess.
What they did
The team tracked 320 prompts in Cited, written the way travelers ask: by neighborhood, trip type and budget. Citation Sources showed that answers leaned on local travel blogs, forum threads and hotel pages that described the surrounding area in detail, not just the rooms.
Published a neighborhood guide for each property, written with staff who live nearby
Corrected amenity and accessibility details on the listing sites engines cited most
Added plain-text summaries of rooms, policies and location to every hotel page
Reviewed Answer Diff each week with the revenue team
The result
In four months, Veyra’s Share of Answer on neighborhood stay prompts rose from 6% to 34%. AI-referred visits to its site grew 3.1×, and those visitors booked direct at nearly twice the rate of visitors from paid search. Answers about amenities were accurate on 96% of tracked prompts, up from 71%.
The team has since added prompts in French, Portuguese and German, and will extend tracking to the two properties it opens next year.
