About the role
Cited’s research team publishes quarterly studies on how AI engines cite and recommend brands, and defines the methods behind metrics like Share of Answer. You’ll run studies end to end, from question to published report, and work with engineering to turn findings into product. Our rule is simple: describe what the answers show, publish the method, and don’t claim more than the data supports.
What you’ll do
Lead two to three studies a year on citation behavior, answer stability and source quality
Improve how we sample prompts and runs so metrics are stable and comparable across engines
Build classifiers for recommendations, sentiment and factual accuracy in answer text
Write for a practitioner audience and present findings to customers
What you’ll bring
A PhD or equivalent experience in information retrieval, NLP, computational social science or statistics
Strong experimental design and a working knowledge of sampling and variance
Fluency in Python and SQL
Clear writing, with examples you can share
Nice to have
Experience evaluating search or recommendation systems
Published work on LLM evaluation
Familiarity with SEO or marketing measurement
